You’re going to have maple syrup leftover, so make sure to use some of it to try my Maple Panna Cotta, too! It’s a super easy dessert to make and one of the best ways to highlight maple syrup, in my opinion.

Sablé cookies don’t freeze super well, they are still good after thawing but they do lose their crunch. You could absolutely make a double batch, then freeze the raw cookie dough portioned out into balls and bake them on demand!

Oh my gosh, these Pecan and Maple Thumbprint Cookies turned out great. The kids and my husband loved them. I have one question though– do you think they would freeze well so I could make a double batch next time?

I DO have a container of pure Canadian maple syrup in my pantry. It’s never been opened and I’ve been saving it for a special recipe. This one is certainly it. We love the taste of maple and now I’m dying to make these maple thumbprint cookies. I KNOW this is going to be a favorite cookie for years to come. Now, I’m ordering the maple sugar and I’m good to go. Thank you for all the tips.

You absolutely could substitute ground walnuts for the pecans. Walnuts and maple are another wonderful flavor match! Any nut flour would work, really.
